Finally TSOOL's latest album "Origin Vol. 1" will
be available in the U.S. next week and Republic-Universal's
version is new and even improved… Word
from kaftan-clad lead vocalist Ebbot Lundberg is that
the entire album has been re-mastered slightly (and
for the better he says) and there's an extended intro
for the lovely ballad "Song For The Others" on
this version. The U.S. also comes with two bonus tracks:
the Pink
Floyd-on-steroids, uber-multi-track vocal trip that
is "World Bank" and the Bjorn Olsson-meets-Morricone-esque "To
Somewhere Else", one of Ebbot's
personal favorites from all the "Origin" recordings,
which was not finished in time for the European release.
Beside
the bonus tracks of course there's the totally rocking
new album, which includes the all-over-college-radio
zoom-rock single "Bigtime", the Ebbot/Jane
Birkin duet
"Midnight Children", the West Coast harmonies
of "Lone Summer Dream", and two of my favorite
incendiary rockers from the TSOOL canon: "Mother
One Track Mind"
and "Royal
Explosion". Total godhead. Can't wait to see them
detonate these live! Not coincidentally, the release
of "Origin" coincides with a month-long U.S.
tour,
dates
available
at TSOOL's
similarly new and even improved U.S.
website. But it is their Official
Site where the true TSOOL
freaks go to exchange the minutiae and ponder the possibilities.
Speaking of which...the follow-up Origin Vol. 2 is
waiting in the wings.
