Staff pick of the week...
This week...Geoff picks it!
One
of the great things about walking into Parasol is you never
know what you might hear coming out of the stereo. Along
with the all the great stuff you see listed in the virtual
pages of the Parasol Catalog you might hear some Sandy Denny,
OutKast, Kate Bush, Genesis, Bryan Adams, David Sedaris,
ELP, Prince, Mississippi John Hurt, etc (you get the idea).
One of the great things about opening any issue of “Mojo:
The Music Magazine” is you never know what you might
find between the covers. The newest issue (#127) has a cover
story on Morrissey, includes articles about The Shins, Graham
Nash, Pixies, John Lennon and the Shadows, and reviews Loretta
Lynn, Sonic Youth, John Martyn, Wishbone Ash, Toots and the
Maytals, and Nick Drake (among almost 100 others). Every issue
is packed with fantastic articles and reviews of every kind
of music. Some you own, some you’ve heard of and some
you never even know existed. Plan on an uncontrollable spending
spree after reading each issue – you won’t be able
to help yourself. What an incredible magazine. Do yourself
a favor. Buy a copy, read it and broaden that musical knowledge
base. You deserve it!
P.S. If you never want to miss an issue of Mojo, get your name
added to our “I never want to miss an issue of Mojo” list.
When they come in we’ll set one aside for you and add
it to your next order.
