Baaaaackkkkkkk!!!! It's been exactly 20 years since
John Doe, Exene Cervenka, and DJ Bonebrake, all of
the legendary punk band X, have re-joined forces with
Dave Alvin to make another Knitters CD. This time including
Jonny Ray Barte, the Knitters release their first album
since their 1985' debut 'Poor Little Critter on the
Road,' The new album, 'The Modern Sounds of The Knitters,'
mirrors the cow-punk sound they helped create with
more originals, covers of Steppenwolf's "Born
To Be Wild" and The Stanley Brothers' "Rank
Stranger, and more countryfied X tunes.
I was so personally excited when I discovered the Knitters
where "back together", and able to share their
sound with a new generation of listeners. There's nothing
I like more than "a little bit country and a little
bit rock n' roll"...grab it, you won't be disappointed!!
