The CONCRETE BLONDE/Self-Titled CD originally released in 1987 on IRS has been reissued on the Superfecta label.
And THANK GOD!!! I used to hoard copies of this, until recently out of print, cd to give to friends, or people who I thought would enjoy it! There was a time it was impossible to find....
Concrete Blonde/ Concrete Blonde is thee LP (the original format I owned it on) ...that CHANGED MY LIFE (inspired me to write music)...
SAVED MY LIFE (from high school teenage angst)...MADE ME A BETTER PERSON (...*$#%@&#) and influences me still!!
I'm sure I've put every one of these songs on a mix tape at some point in the last 17 years...a song for every feeling!!
And although I have continued to love, and appreciate, the music of Concrete Blonde, and Johnette Napolitano....this is no "JOEY" school of writing...this cd will take you through many emotional twists...with almost as many genre feels...it's an uninhibited, raw emotional purge...
I highly recommend this cd...and it even includes a cover of George Harrisons "Beware of Darkness"...
