Wieslander - Yet
The third album and Stateside debut
for Swedish
songwriter Måns Wieslander is a collection of quietly intense and heartbreakingly
profound popsongs draped in lush, gilded sonic tapestries. At times intimate
and hushed with strummed guitars, at others cathartic with
bombastic guitar heorics, "Yet" is a beautifully assembled and arranged,
studio savvy album, five years in the making, led by one of the richest voices
in independent pop music today.
Måns is: An accomplished songwriter and aural doppelganger for pop icon
Adam Schmitt. 'Yet' comes highly recommended to fans of Adam as well as Robert
Forster & Grant McLennan from The Go-Betweens, Mark Eitzel, Folk Implosion,
Robyn Hitchcock, and Robert Pollard.
Måns was: The involuntary leader of the brilliant Swedish powerpop band
Elevator Adam. One half of the equally fabulous folk-electro-pop duo Campo Mondo.
Bass player for the 26th incarnation of The Saints. A member of the Moonbabies.
Måns Wieslander's previous albums "Twin Piloda" (Payola/BMG)
and "Wallpaper" (Best Kept Secret) were released in Sweden and Italy
respectively.

singer/songwriter" vein -- acoustic guitars and subtle percussion enhanced
by the occasional loop. The true strong point here, however, is Wieslander's
voice… A strong and enthralling voice, and is capable of conveying a wide
