This is the self-titled debut from Castor... Champaign, Illinois' newest bright spot and reason to get out of the house to see music. Castor are a spacious, vibrant four-piece band. They've given us a wonderfully subdued and understated record; a record that's powerful without being overblown.

In an attempt to describe Castor's sound, bands like Slint, Polvo, early-Dinosaur Jr., Zoom, and Rein Sanction spring to mind. Although Castor was raised on such bands, they've really come into their own. The music has an ease and confidence to it. This debut proves that the band truly has something special to offer it's listeners.
