Angie
Heaton - Calamities
and Restitution (MUD-CD-015) CD
OUT OF PRINT Digital
Download only - not available for sale as a physical CD
Endearing pop/rock with a subtle twang that's both fragile & ushered. Very
good personal & engaging songs from ex-Corndolly /Liquorette drummer. |
 |
Liquorette - When You Work, I Sleep (MUD-CD-014)
CD $10.00
Ex-Corndolly's Angie, Matt & Wendy makin' fuzzy/funny pop Elephant 6 style
with Barlow-esque undertones. 21 tracks recorded '93-'95. |
 |
Honcho Overload - Almost Everything (MUD-CD-013+)
A collection of B-sides, alternate versions, and unreleased tracks available
in a limited pressing. |
 |
Lonley Trailer - Self-Titled (MUD-CD-012)
Double CD $10.00
A double-CD from one of the most original bands to ever come out of Champaign.
A band with it's own identity-opne that is completely unfazed by fashion. Forty-seven
songs (140+ minutes) spanning 1987-1994. |
 |
Castor - Self-Titled (MUD-CD-011) CD
OUT OF PRINT Digital
Download only - not available for sale as a physical CD
Subdued, understated, and entirely engaging record from these stringbenders.
Music with a ease and confidence that will appeal to fans of Zoom, Slint, Polvo,
etc. |
 |
Beezus - Breakfast
Was Weird (MUD-CD-010)
CD $7.50
Three girls playing a blend of Scrawl/Tsunami/Raincoats inspired songs ranging
from crafty pop to haunting dirge to fuzzy, driving rock. |
 |
Various Artists - Cover the Earth (MUD-CD-009)
CD $7.50
Two songs each from some of our favorite bands: Castor, Braid, C-Clamp, Liquorette,
Milo, Beezus, Charlie Dold, Angie Heaton, and Morning Becomes Electric. |
 |
Corndolly - Self-Titled (MUD-CD-008)
CD $7.50
Posthumous CD from Corndolly. A great, predominantly female rock band that blew
their contemporaries away. Members have gone on to form Liquorette and Angie
Heaton (well, Angie was already formed, but now she's flying solo). The gal in
Cat Power is a ringer for Amy, so if you're a fan of one you'd do well to try
the other. |
 |
Lonely Trailer - Yeah,
So? (MUD-CD-007)
CD $7.50
Guitar, bass, and drums with compelling harmonies. This is the 11th full
length release for this Urbana, Illinois three-piece. Frantic playing,
varied time signatures, and atypical subject matter, make them responsible
for more than their fair share of nightmares. Excellent! |
 |
Suede Chain - Ripplemark (MUD-CD-006)
CD $7.50
Adding cello and violin to standard rock instrumentation and amazing voices,
they've crafted an excellent, gutsy debut. Art-rock with a '90s inflection, Suede
Chain sometimes smack of a lush, orchestrated Smashing Pumpkins, but spend most
of their time defying comparisons. |
 |
Honcho
Overload - Pour
Another Drink (MUD-CD-005)CD
OUT OF PRINT Digital
Download only - not available for sale as a physical
CD
Another full length from these guys. One of the band's greatest strengths here
is the melange of styles that this CD traverses while still sounding cohesive.
Sometimes rocking flat out like Smashing Pumpkins meets Union Carbide Productions,
other times tossing around fucked up psychedelia like the Grifters playing Spacemen
3 songs. Again, impeccably produced by Adam Schmitt. Hum fanatics (and everyone
else) should own this! |
 |
Hot Glue Gun - The Life And Death Of... (MUD-CD-004)
Double-CD $10.00
This two CD set that contains Hot Glue Gun's entire studio-recorded output
from 1986-1991, plus a bonus disc of unreleased live tracks. The studio CD contains
five songs recorded anew in 1999 with Hum's Matt Talbott producing. |
 |
Uptighty- Self-Titled (MUD-CD-003) CD
OUT OF PRINT Digital
Download only - not available for sale as a physical
CD
A young, no-bullshit 13 piece soul/jazz/funk/rock outfit from Chicago guaranteed
to set your ass in motion! Features ring-leader LeRoy Bach on guitar/vox. LeRoy
has been a member of 5ive Style (Sub Pop), Liz Phair's band, and late '80s Champaign
rockers Bowery Boys. Uptighty also boasts members of Tortoise and Tar Babies.
Produced by Brad Wood. |
 |
Mother - Gold Record LP (MUD-CD-002)
CD $7.50
Mother signed to Capitol Records and changed their name to Menthol. This is the
remarkable album which prompted their jump to the big leagues. Capital "C" Clever
wordplay highlighted by great guitar playing with Southern (that's right) underpinnings
that you won't find on their subsequent releases. |
 |
Honcho Overload- Smiles
Everyone (MUD-CD-001)
CD $10.00
The debut CD from one of our favorite bands. With a line-up that includes Matt
Talbott and Jeff Dimpsey, from Hum, Honcho kicked up a lot of dust in their heyday.
This first CD rocks without forgetting to roll and is highly recommeded. |
 |
Various - Mud
Puddle Playoffs (MUD-CD-000)
CD $7.50
One track from each of the first 17 Mud singles. Features the bands Hum, Menthol,
Hardvark, Honcho Overload, Corndolly, Suede Chain, and Hot Glue Gun. |
