Sukilove tour pt. 3
A few days after I submitted the petitions I received back two I-797C, Notice of Action forms from the Department of Homeland Security. The forms included a Receipt Number that I could use to look up the petition's status online. I immediately looked up the case online. Under "Current Status" the line was blank but there was a notice below that said "It is taking between 30 and 120 days for us to process this kind of case. We will mail you a decision as soon as processing is complete." The government received the forms within that window so I assumed that there was some sort of prioritization process that would put the projects in line based on tour dates. I continued to check everyday and there was never an update. The tour was finally all booked with a great paying date in State College - halfway between the New York show and Cleveland show - being the last to come through.

With two weeks to go before the band was to travel to the U.S. we still had no status report on the works visas. I was surprised because it had already been five weeks and we were able to obtain a UK work permit for Kevin Tihista in 10 days.
