03/16/2004 Entry: "Hall of Fame pt. 2"
Back in September 2003 I blogged about the 2004 nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I was perturbed that Black Sabbath, the Sex Pistols, Lynyrd Skynyrd and others had been nominated in past years but were not voted in. Tracks magazine Editor-In-Chief Alan Light covers some of the same ground in a Slate.com diary entry following his attendance at last night's ceremony.
"I can't help but say one last time: Traffic, ZZ Top, and Jackson Browne in the Hall of Fame; Sex Pistols, Black Sabbath, Patti Smith, Gram Parsons, Lynyrd Skynyrd not in the Hall of Fame. I know it doesn't matter beyond this $2,000 a ticket, self-congratulatory dinner extravaganza, but still—what the hell?"
