PS, US Alsace Lorraine is the delicately delicious and unique electronic/guitar pop creation of seminary professor Paul Francke. We're pleased to announce that our favorite singer on Earth, Argentinean Singer/Artist Isol has joined Alsace Lorraine to sing on four of the album's 14 tracks too. Isol sings here in English for the first time! Isol left her band Entre Rios (Elefant {Spain}/Darla {US}) when the group signed with EMI Latin America because the deal demanded too much time away from her profession as an Artist/Illustrator. Caitlin Brice sings backing vocals on two tracks. Jane Francke (Paul's sister) sings one track. The sophomore Alsace album Dark One, though not literally very "Dark", was recorded and mixed by Paul at Paul's home studio in Chicago. Isol's warm, exotic, sensual vocals were recorded in Isol's bedroom studio in Buenos Aires. Paul's unique bedroom uber-pop soundtrack provides the perfect music bed to Isol's vocal. The result is a unique blend of Astrud Gilberto, Wolfgang Press, Eurythmics, Pale Saints, St. Etienne, Magnetic Fields, Hope Sandoval, as well as The Wake, Section 25 and other Factory-esque influences. Hopefully, Paul and Isol will make more beautiful music together. Alsace Lorraine sounds romantic; thoughtful, sensuous and smart. Comment from Paul Francke: I began the album begun during college on the south side of Chicago and completed it while working in Campbeltown, on the end of the Kintyre Peninsula, the most remote part of mainland Britain. Between those points I worked on the record in an Episcopalian seminary dormitory in Alexandria, Virginia, while training to be a seminary professor. It couldn't have been done without my brilliant, non-religious friends: Isol sings four of the best songs on the album, but she also made important suggestions for changes to the lyrics and music. We share a lot of beliefs regarding art and beyond, and it has been fascinating to work with her. Her friend Nico recorded her vocals in a studio in Buenos Aires. Caitlin Brice, the lead singer from the previous album, sings excellent backup on two songs here. Joe Moore plays guitar on one song, and my younger sister Jane sings on one song as well.

PS, UK Antonio Carlos (Tom) Jobim is the biggest name in Brazilian music. His composition 'The Girl from Ipanema' with 'Yesterday' are the most popular song of all time and it is THE number that defines Bossa Nova (though Jobim wrote two dozen other songs that are intrinsic to the genre). Jobim and the virtuoso Brazilian guitarist Luiz Bonfa were (with Joao Gilberto) the architects of Bossa Nova; overseeing the transition of traditional samba song to the new form and our collection covers those years of transition. Our set includes Jobim songs played by Bonfa and vice versa. It includes vintage domestic hits written either by Jobim or by both men and as a major feature also includes the entire score of the 1956 'Orpheus of the Carnival' stage play (written by Tom Jobim and the poet Vinicius de Morais). This was the blueprint for the famous film 'Black Orpheus' which two years later swept all before it at the Cannes Film festival and put Bossa Nova on the world map. Our set captures the flavour of fifties Brazil, when in arts and culture and sport the country was really emerging. Jobim and Bonfa are popular throughout the world. Much of the later work of both men has long attained classic status and is in print (eg Jobim's number 1 USA LP with Frank Sinatra). Both men are major names in America and Japan. Bossa Nova has been given further impetus with the re-discovery of Tropicalia and period Brazilian music is now extremely prominent, in Britain and Europe especially. Any student of Brazilian music will appreciate this album.

It made a fortune and changed the face of cinema. In addition to all 14 tracks from their 1981 album on the New Hormones label (founded by Buzzcocks), the CD also features ten bonus tracks from all four singles released between 1980 and 1982, including the cult favourites Bricks and Discordo, as well as the ultra-rare Diagram Brothers German EP. Often compared to XTC, Gang of Four and Fire Engines in their day, The Diagram Brothers invented and defined their sound 'discordo' as follows: "The music was made to a strict formula, or set of rules. The duo's debut offering examines in detail the idiom of Bummer Psych; the strain of damaged Anglo-pop music pioneered by Syd Barrett that arguably reached its apex with The Television Personalities' "Painted Word" LP in the mid-80's, but found new life in Japan via the genius of Tori Kudo and like-minded acts such as Nagisa Ni Te and Tenniscoats. Indeed, Blood of the Sunworm consists of depressing pop songs and damaged instrumentals - teeth bared and falling apart as they are cobbled together - on a hazy, cryptic journey through a busted kaleidoscope, behind a dusty mirror & up through the rafters.

PS, US Inside your raincoat you find a plastic pocketwatch. It is chiming. Now is the time for the Ideal Free Distribution. The makings of the Ideal Free Distribution came together in 1997 when Eric Griffy, Tony Miller, and Craig Morris decided to make some recordings in Eric's bedroom of some of the primitive ramblings trapped in their heads. Often crude and amateurish, the songs nonetheless had a unique sound and vision that encouraged the three to keep it up. Inspired by Scott Walker, Belle and Sebastian, Beach Boys, and the more obscure elements of the psychedelic genre, they pressed on with the creative process. In a few months, the songs became respectable enough to play for others, and good enough to keep the group recording more material. As their maturity as songwriters grew, some of these new songs (about 50/50) were absolutely wonderful. However, since these new recordings were made in the boys' tiny hometown of Benton, Kentucky, they would never see any release beyond that of compilation cassettes passed around to friends and family. The advantage of this obscurity was that the band was able to learn to cull their weaker songs and focus their efforts on tunes that were worthwhile. The culmination of these developments began to appear in 2003 and 2004 as Eric, Tony, and Craig began writing material for their forthcoming single (Saturday Drive/Apples and Oranges) and LP. With a full lineup due to the addition of Joe Drury on keyboard and guitar, Mike Grote on drums, Marci Schneider on mellotron and castinets, Shelly Morris on vocals and percussion, and Samantha Herald on accessory percussion and vocals, Robert Schneider of The Apples in Stereo heard and loved the demos for these new songs, and his enthusiasm has spread throughout the psychedelic underground who happened to hear them. Through Robert, the band found a home in Athens, Georgia's Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records. Mike Turner, head of the label, caught wind of the band via the undeniable enthusiasm that Robert had for the band. RIYL: Apples in Stereo, the Association, Belle & Sebastian.

PS, UK Jawbone was born from the ashes of The Mirage and Turquoise, two of the UK's greatest cult pop-psych bands (and both recently anthologized on RPM and Rev-Ola respectively) and their lone 1970 album rounds off their stories perfectly. They were thrown together after guitarist Ray Glynn and drummer Dave Hynes decided to re-form The Mirage after a short stint in The Spencer Davis Group came to an end in 1969 (they appear on the excellent "Short Change" single and ill-fated Funky album). Vocalist Pete Hynes and former bassist Dee Murray was swiftly poached for Elton John's band so they recruited keyboard player and former Mirage sidekick/songwriter Kirk Duncan who called up another former colleague, Jeff "Gus" Peters of the recently defunct Turquoise to handle bass duties. Dave Hynes secured the band a deal with Merv Cohn's newly minted Carnaby label and they changed their name to The Portebello (sic) Explosion for a single coupling the dreamy, Beatlesque pop-sike of "We Can Fly" and a tough, hard-edged cover of Bubble Puppy's minor US hit "Hot Smoke And Sassafras". The single went nowhere but album sessions began regardless in late 1969 with the re-recording of three old Mirage tunes - "How's Ya Pa?", "Chicago Cottage" and "Jeremiah Dreams" (mis-titled "Jeremiah's Dream" on the eventual album), a suitably demented re-working of their unreleased 1967 psychedelic opus "Ebeneezer Beaver". When "How's Ya Pa?" was released as a single in early 1970, it was credited to yet another new moniker, Jawbone. Typically for this period, Dave Hynes had become obsessed by The Band and set about remodeling the group in their image. Consequently, titles like "Honeysuckle Redwood Cabin", "Homestead" and "Mister Custer" came thick and fast, bearing the distinct influences of The Band and The Byrds.

PS, UK Antonio Carlos (Tom) Jobim is the biggest name in Brazilian music. His composition 'The Girl from Ipanema' with 'Yesterday' are the most popular song of all time and it is THE number that defines Bossa Nova (though Jobim wrote two dozen other songs that are intrinsic to the genre). Jobim and the virtuoso Brazilian guitarist Luiz Bonfa were (with Joao Gilberto) the architects of Bossa Nova; overseeing the transition of traditional samba song to the new form and our collection covers those years of transition. Our set includes Jobim songs played by Bonfa and vice versa. It includes vintage domestic hits written either by Jobim or by both men and as a major feature also includes the entire score of the 1956 'Orpheus of the Carnival' stage play (written by Tom Jobim and the poet Vinicius de Morais). This was the blueprint for the famous film 'Black Orpheus' which two years later swept all before it at the Cannes Film festival and put Bossa Nova on the world map. Our set captures the flavour of fifties Brazil, when in arts and culture and sport the country was really emerging. Jobim and Bonfa are popular throughout the world. Much of the later work of both men has long attained classic status and is in print (eg Jobim's number 1 USA LP with Frank Sinatra). Both men are major names in America and Japan. Bossa Nova has been given further impetus with the re-discovery of Tropicalia and period Brazilian music is now extremely prominent, in Britain and Europe especially.

PS, SPAIN LA JR (previously know, simply, as JR) are back, led as usual by Frank Rudow (also a member of Viva Las Vegas and Manta Ray), Rafa and Borja. Almost three years after their latest release (also titled "La JR"), "Dos Casas" is a work of dark atmospheric lounge, trancey Kraut-Rock groove or anti-jazz-folk, as we like to name it. Less hermetic than their previous albums, less strictly "autistic pop", LA JR could be a blend between Ry Cooder, The Sea and Cake, AR Kane or Sun Ra, and their new 11 songs -all created thru' modest handicraft ingredients-, part of what we think is one of the best European albums of 2007. When writing a music review or in this case a press release, it is difficult not to resort to subjectivity -the me, myself and I syndrome. The reader doesn't give a damn that I woke up a day later feeling like it was Friday when actually it was Thursday, that the sun had skulked away shyly as it had come at dawn or that a spike from my cactus had prickled me reminding me to water it. Having said this, I have not been asked to write about time travel, weather reports or botany. It could mean absolutely everything or absolutely nothing. And it is exactly this everything and nothing that awakens my interest in LA JR. Please excuse the subjectivity. I came across Jr or more specifically a fragment of the track 'Abrir, amar, y dos sonrisas' from the album 127 (1999, Acuarela) two years late. I can't remember if I invented the tag or if I read it in a press release, but whatever the case I associated it and type cast it as Dadaist pop. Speaking of Dadaism, I would like to quote a text in a book by Richard Huelsenbeck that I coincidentally finished today: "Anyone can be a dadaist. Dadaism does not restrict itself to any particular art form. The waiter in the Manhattan Bar who serves a curaçao with one hand whilst scratching his gonorrhoea with the other is a Dadaist. The gentleman dressed in a raincoat that takes off around the world for the seventh time is a Dadaist. A Dadaist should be someone who thoroughly understands that you have the right to ideas only when you apply them to life; the Dadaist is a totally active person who only exists through actions, their only means of knowledge". I'll leave you to make your own conclusions. There is no exact definition for the word 'dada' and there are no exact words to describe the multifariousness of La Jr. Last year, with the release of La Jr (Acuarela) I chose pantheist rock instead of dadaist pop to pigeonhole them (because of 'Las dos en la nave'), but as I'm listening to their recent release 'Dos casas', I am finding it more difficult to sum it up in a nutshell. The cookie jar opens and the sound of 'Lav decoración 1' renders the air, I nod my head, tap my toes and duly change my position although not my perspective as many things remain the same; Frank Rudow is still an outstanding percussionist (that hypnotic softness in 'Un lado útil'), Rafael Martínez's disjointed singing is just as lustful and irreverent ('Mi a Mi' and 'Arrebato') as ever and equally seductive, I'm sure you'll agree. This is most evident in 'Yo voy a cambiar eh!', so much so that it is not necessary to refer to the title to be convinced there's been a change here. 'Pistoleros' is to music what assemblage is to art; an overlaying of diverse, motley materials; it sounds like porcelain, wood, glass and it squeaks even though it doesn't sound like squeaking.

Caught between the organic and electronic minimalism that 12k is known for and the unconventional Japanese pop musings and songwriting style of Happy, Moskitoo's Drape is an infectiously strange, bleepy, and dreamy debut release. Sanae Yamasaki (Moskitoo) hails from Sappporo, Japan in Hokkaido, the country's northern-most prefecture. Perhaps a reaction to the cool climate of her home, her multi-instrumental talents bring a wide range of warm tones and textures to Drape by means of guitar, metallophone, organ, drum machines, synthesizers and nostalgic toy instruments. Yamasaki's gentle, airy vocals play off of broken beats and aqueous sound drops evoking half-awake memories lost and found. Influenced by visual art (she painted the cover image), modern electronic music and abstract pop, such as Eno's explorations in the 1970's, Yamasaki does not set out to write a particular style of music, but rather, lets her creative process emerge naturally, following whims and experiments. Drape is, by far, the most structured and song written release on 12k to date. It's a release that signifies not a complete directional change for the label but the creative go-ahead to add new nuances to the already established sound that the label has pioneered.

PS, US Leave Me In The Black No-Thing is the new full-length album recorded April 10th, 2006, at MCIAA's Alien Zone, located in a remote region of the Western Alps, Piemonte, Italy. The work consists of two tracks entitled Part One and Part Two for a total length of 56:15 minutes. After having been irradiated by the Cosmic Light Of A New Millennium, you find yourself facing a black and white cover, where the only view of the universe is foreshortened, and represents a lighted shape showing branches of pine trees under a white sky, within the darkest black. Element which represents the esthetic detaching and, at the same time, a further step in the duo's artistic process, which determines their willingness to go beyond any goal already achieved. For MCIAA to make art means to risk daring the unknown, daring the listener himself to excel his own limits of perception of the work of art in music, without losing anything of their unique and unmistakable style. If, as many of the international critics have been remarking, MCIAA's works live on the boundary between Light and Darkness, it's also true that Cosmic Light of the Third Millennium celebrated the light of the outer spaces as well as Leave Me In The Black No-Thing represents a jump into the No-Thing of the empty inner spaces. Recorded in their secret recording-space up on the Western Alps of Piedmont, Italy, during the trespassing from dusk to the beginning of the night, the work lives of the same dark magic of the Wagnerian post-romantic overtures, suspended between the deepest silence and the most deflagrating sonic attack. Light/Darkness, noise/silence, permeated by Roberto Opalio's suffering vocal tunes, which defines and underlines the edge of the work. After the cacophonic and free implosion of the nucleus of the initials 30 minutes, 25 minutes of painful silence follow, sounding like the last whisper before the final end: angels' chorus and ectoplasmatic presences float on Maurizio Opalio's crystal-clear guitar strings. It's the Cosmic Blues of the III Millennium, which penetrates into the soul, leaving indelible signs.

PS, UK One of the most fascinating figures of rock's fringes, Nico hobnobbed, worked, and was romantically linked with an incredible assortment of the most legendary entertainers of the '60s. Nico first rose to fame as a European supermodel, also landing a bit part in Fellini's La Dolce Vita film. In the mid- 1960's she moved to New York, where Andy Warhol installed her as a vestigial presence and occasional lead singer for the Velvet Underground. The band never really accepted her as a bona fide member and she departed in 1967, but not before contributing unforgettable deadpan vocals to three of the songs on their classic 1967 debut album. Nico embarked on a solo career, recording folk-rock-flavored songs for her debut Chelsea Girl album with assistance from Jackson Browne, Lou Reed, and John Cale. Her 1969 follow-up, The Marble Index, was a dramatic departure that unveiled her doomladen, gothic persona, produced by Cale and prominently featuring her deep vocals, impenetrable lyrics, and ghostly harmonium. Her subsequent '70s albums explored much the same territory, with assistance from Cale and influential art rockers like Brian Eno. She fought a constant struggle with a massive drug habit and tangled personal life and eventually died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Ibiza in 1988. Robbins even outdid in some ways even Johnny Cash, producing the acclaimed 'concept' albums of Gunfighter Ballads for which he is best remembered. Marty Robbins Joined The Grand Ole Opry in 1953 and hosted his own TV show in the 1970s before dying prematurely in 1982 (aged 57). This compilation concentrates on the brief period between 1954 and 1957 when he took on Elvis and the early rockabillies with some sparkling country rockers which graced a fistful of cool US Columbia 45s and an iconic 10" LP. Tracks include his country covers of Elvis' "That's All Right" (#7 1955), Chuck's "Maybelline" (#9 1955) and his peerless originals of "Singing The Blues" (#1 1956), "I Can't Quit" (#7 1956) and "Knee Deep In The Blues" (#3 1957). And a slew of live outbursts of Rockin' mania you won't believe! As one might expect of a man who not only prefigured Nick Cave but introduced the fuzztone guitar to the pop world (in 1961!) this is seriously rocking stuff....a new discovery for some, and bound to garner some serious column inches!

PS, US Sarandon , the English spiky-pop trio formed in late 2003, will be releasing their collection of U.S. and U.K. singles "The Completist's Library" on December 5 via Athens, GA HHBTM Records. It's a 32 track CD & LP compiling the four mini albums released by Sarandon thus far. From the opening song "Pin up" to the closing "Anthony & Simon", all 32 songs work as a whole regardless of the time between recordings as well as personnel changes. Sarandon formed in late 2003 between London and Leicester. Sarandon are a pop band with a short attention span. Head Honcho, Crayola had been in mid-Eighties antiheroes The Colgates. He also ran Thee Foundation for Nothing cassette label and performed in too many bands to recall, including Future Sperm Brasil, Scooter, Pimp, Rocket Jockey & Team Mollusk. He's appeared on over 100 albums and released 25 solo albums. He now runs the kabukikore label. He had the idea for Sarandon swirling round in his head for some time and finally got round to asking his friends Joe and James if they'd help out. Their first release was a 7 track 7" album entitled "The Miniest Album" (Run Out / Banazan). Released in 2004 it quickly gathered some great reviews from all over the world along with a bunch of radio play. Not bad for a band that had only rehearsed twice and played live once before their recording. There's even rumor of possible gigging action for the elusive 3-piece, including the possibility of some shows alongside legendary Japanese nutcases (and fans of the band), Melt Banana. PS, SWEDEN Sibiria was founded in 2002. The debut album "Norrlands inland" was released in September 2005. Swedish daily "Hallands Nyheter" wrote: "The first Swedish band in a long time that deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as The Smiths". "Inom familjen" is their second album. Although the distances between the four band members and the strong connection to their hometown Östersund is two things which imprints Sibiria, the lyrics range from a variety of subjects, such as love, hate and friendship. But we shouldn't talk so much about the lyrics. It's the music that is important, even if Sibiria sings in their native tongue, which is the most natural thing to do even if a lot of people see at as a statement. There has always been a melancholy touch to Sibiria's songs, even if the band sometimes come up with sprawling pop punches such as "Ljusdal" and, from "Inom familjen", the single "Det har varit svårare". On the new album the recording process was far more important than on its predecessor. Since Sibiria's three song writers make their music in different places and times and the distances makes it impossible to rehearse, the feeling of still being a band playing together was important. Therefore the recordings were made in a week at a summer house on the Swedish west coast. If you listen carefully you will here the warmth and love that these days and these songs recapture.

PS, UK As the infamous Tea Chest tapes continue to remain an enigma, we open up our own box of masters to discover some hitherto un-issued Meek produced recordings, plus other recordings long since unavailable. With release timed to coincide with the general notice being given to the 40th Anniversary of Meeks death (February 1967), this collection will suit those looking for something new to extend their Meek collection. The collection brings with it great examples of the Meek production sound. From Glenda Collins, Meeks best known female artist, is an unreleased version of her apocalyptic single recorded in Stereo. Two of the Ray Dexter tracks are also in Stereo, a rare format in the early 60's when these were made. Ray Dexter, a singer songwriter who was busy right through the 60's with singles released on many labels, is included with four of his songs released for the first time. Backing is by the Tornados, and include his demo of You Took My Love For Granted, a song he wrote and Meek recorded with John Leyton as the b-side of the international hit 'Wild Wind'. PS, UK A hilarious and scurrilous collection of R&B and comedy like you've never heard! I guess most of these artists need no introduction; I'm sure you know all about Scatman Crothers (star of The Shining and er...Hong Kong Fuey), Redd Foxx, the outrageous Rudy Ray Moore, Slim Gaillard, Sammy Davis, Moms Mabley and Pearl Bailey. Dusty Fletcher was the originator of the enduring international success "Open The Door, Richard!" (and a #2 Billboard R&B hit in 1947 for him). The Spirits Of Rhythm included comedians George "Blues Man" Vann and the seminal Leo "Scat" Watson. Al Jackson had been half of the hilarious Patterson & Jackson comedy team. Little Arthur Matthews had been the "Dope" half of the popular West Coast comedians "Mope & Dope". He later joined Johnny Otis' R&B revue as a singer/comedian. Otis and his band back Matthews on these two sides. Her signature piece, comedienne Effie Smith had a national R&B hit in 1965 with a recut of the two-part "Dial That Telephone", recorded originally for Aladdin in 1953: this two-parter is the 1956 first expanded re-recording for her own Spot Records. She discovered rock 'n' roll act Don & Dewey and her son was Los Angeles producer/song-writer Fred Sledge Smith of Bob & Earl, and The Olympics fame. Both of them worked at Stax until the label closed down. All round entertainer, Sammy Davis Jr had by 1949 made a big name for himself as part of the Will Mastin Trio with his uncle and father and was signed to Capitol Records, there he recorded fine straight ballads.... in addition to producing parodies of the R&B sounds of the day under the pseudonyms Charlie Green and Shorty Muggins.- A must for serious R&B fans....and anyone with a sense of humor! PS, US I can hardly wipe the smile off my face as I listen to The Velcro Stars. Their mid-90's Chapel Hill, NC-esque sound is enveloping my person as I type this. It's certainly one of the most exciting things going on in the revitalized (and...pssssssst.....quite "hip") Murfreesboro/Nashville, TN independent music scene along with How I Became The Bomb, Ghostfinger, and The Turncoats. Initially comprised of Shane Spresser (guitar/vocals) and Keith Pratt (guitar/vocals), they began writing songs together after high school. They were joined in 2001 by Rebekah Kidd (keyboards/vocals). Danial Norman was a high school acquaintance and joined them as their bassist in 2001. After going through several drummers, Andy Spore filled the position and began playing with them in 2005. "The Velcro Stars are one of the most interesting, original, and level-headed bands to come out of Murfreesboro in a long time. Their songs are simplistic and well arranged, and bring with them hints of Pavement, Blake Babies, and Superchunk." (nashvillezine.com) Enter Grand Palace Records. Grand Palace is an independent record store in Murfreesboro, TN. It's also a loft space that houses a recording studio and screen-printing shop. Owned and operated by Murfreesboro music scene luminaries, they decided to capitalize on the revitalized scene by recording some of their favorites (Velcros included). Thus, Grand Palace Records (the label) began. "Hiroshima's Revenge" is the first full-length to be released on Grand Palace Records (a joint co-release with much help and support from Athens, GA's Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records, who became smitten with the band after their show-stopping performance at the 2006 Athens Popfest). With the recording of "Hiroshima's Revenge", the Velcros finally make good on the promise of the "Heart Disease / Shock and Awe" Demo as well as their self-titled 7-track EP from 2005. This album is a pleasant reminder of the pure joy, immediacy, and lack of pretension that's at the heart of all great three-chord rock and roll. Songs such as "Brand New" and "B-Side of Love" will make you scream with pure delight as you dance around your living room to the pop-tastic codas contained within. PS, US Eighth album marks more departures from previous formulas, resulting in some of their finest & freshest sonics yet. Synthesizers & electronics take more of a backseat role while the sitar bubbles strongly to the surface. The result lends an Eastern-tinged vibe to many of the tunes, a late 60s consciousness-elevating cool. Masterful guitar work is still in rich abundance, but many of the dark psych passages Vocokesh are known for is offset by some sunnier trajectories. A surrealistic depth rarely matched in instrumental rock these days.

Yellow 6 is the solo project of Jon Attwood, a guitarist based in Leicestershire (the first UK-based artist to release an album on Resonant!) who has released six full length albums, five live albums and one remix album, on top of several mini-albums and EPs, singles and contributions to numerous compilations. Painted Sky was recorded between 2004 and 2006, and strips away many of the layers of previous outings, resulting in a collection of melodic, organic guitar and piano soundscapes backed with subtle percussion. More ambient than post rock, Painted Sky draws comparisons to Labradford, Cocteau Twins, Durutti Column, Slowdive, Windy & Carl and Erik Satie, as opposed to the quiet/loud exponents; this is quiet/quiet, with an overall air of wistful melancholy. The previous releases of Yellow 6 have established a solid following, both in terms of fanbase and press.
